​About the Role

​To undertake SMTH testing or signalling installation work as directed and to provide direction and leadership to Signalling Installers and Assistant Signalling Installers as required.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead on and follow site safety procedures and behaviours.

  • Ability to competently lead a team in signalling duties with respect to disconnections, reconnections, maintenance, fault finding and renewals of a minor nature.

  • Determine, implement and ensure accurate records are maintained of all safe systems of work.

  • Carry out handover / hand back arrangements for S&T equipment.

  • Maximise the productivity of other employees and sub-contractors when under your direct control.

​SMTH and Signalling Team Leaders


You will be working on safety critical infrastructure, and this requires potential recruits to:

  • Have high attention to detail and following compliance and assurance procedures.

  • Have experience in signalling installation and maintenance.

  • Place high importance on safety procedures and behaviours with no compromise

  • Be familiar with relevant railway standards and detailed knowledge of signalling systems, standards, and requirements.

  • Have Excellent interpersonal, communication and man management skills.

Competence

  • ​IRSE SMTH Team Leader license 1.8.100.

  • IRSE Signalling Maintenance Tester 1.4.160

  • PTS

  • COSS or SWL

Desired (not required)

MOD 5, MOD 4, MOD 3b, 18th Edition Electricians

​Pre-employment

Pre employment medical, drug and alcohol screening

BPSSBasic security clearance may be required (to be undertaken as part of the onboarding process).
